The sister carriage to No.23, this carriage was identical to its sister carriage but was an all 3rd and was also cut down to the FR loading Gauge in April 1924, Sadly 25 didn't survive and was scrapped at Dinas in 1942. Work to build an un-cut down replica of this carriage started in 2005 when a new underframe was ordered at the same time as the Buffet Car one this was to save costs (very much like a buy one get one half price deal at Tesco!), after a successful appeal to life members of the Welsh Highland Railway Limited in 2007 enough money was raise to allow construction to begin on the woodwork, again Specialist restoration work will be done by Magnay and Yates. Fundraising continues for this coach, can you help us?

COACH 25 PROGRESS – the chassis of Ashbury Carriage No.25 is now at the Llangollen Railway, where some mechanical work is being done to the chassis before the bodywork is built - basically stuff which is easier before someone constructs 10 tonne of woodwork on top.  So far, the cross shaft (the pivot point for the arms which apply the brakes) and the air cylinder bracket have been made, and the bogie centres are on order.  The Chief Mechanical Engineer at Llangollen reports that he hopes to have the chassis ready for dispatch by the end of April.
