-  Travel in an original or replica Welsh Highland carriage for the short trip to Pen-y-Mount (around three quarters of a mile)

-  Have a cup of tea from the original WHR Buffet Car on its first journey in service since restoration

-  Join us for a guided tour of the newly opened Welsh Highland & Ffestiniog museum at Gelerts Farm

-  Free day pass to enjoy the rest of the WHHR gala

A limited number of tickets are available at £15 each.  Book early to avoid disappointment.

The train leaves Porthmadog (WHR) station at 10:00

on Saturday 2nd May, and there are two ways you can be on it:

   1)  Make a donation of at least £15 by clicking here

   2)  Tickets are being auctioned regularly on the internet site eBay.  Click here for more details

All money from donations and ticket sales for this train will go directly to the costs of completing the WHR Heritage Train.  Around £10,000 is still needed to pay bills for the completion of one replica carriage.

This special train is part of a gala weekend at the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway.  Baldwin 4-6-0PT Number 778 is visiting the railway for the three days 2nd - 4th May, recalling the days when a similar locomotive, Number 590, was a regular sight on the WHR.

The special will mark the launch of the Welsh Highland Heritage train.  The original WHR Buffet Car, built in 1893, will make its first run in revenue earning service since restoration.  The replica of the Buffet Car’s sister carriage, No.25 will also be making its first appearance.
